Offering a holistic approach to psychotherapy, I have been accompanying and supporting adults and couples for over 20 years, as they uncover their richest self.
With advanced degrees in clinical social work from The University of Michigan and grief/spiritual counseling from Fordham University, I have been privileged to treat ad
ults in various mental health settings in both Maryland and DC, including CPC/Chestnut Hill, Family Services/Sheppard Pratt and the Washington Hospital Center.
I gained valued first-hand knowledge about seniors; parental care-giving; palliative and hospice
care; grief/loss; and end-of-life issues during my time
at a nursing home. (This experience led to my currently serving as a consultant to a local hospice group.)
Having worked in the corporate world in New York City as well as having served for two years as a volunteer in Appalachia, I bring a variety of lived experiences to my practice. I welcome working with culturally-diverse individuals as well as the geriatric and gay/lesbian populations.
With post-graduate training in psychodynamic psychotherapy from Georgetown University and advanced ego-state therapy (guided imagery), I afford a mindfulness
sensitivity as I address myriad emotional issues in long and short-term therapy.
Additionally, I successfully treat families coping with chronically mentally ill or terminally ill relatives.
My therapeutic style is interactive, honest, open, and empathetic, as I am deeply aware that engaging in therapy takes courage and a true investment of time, money
and energy.
Know that I have the deepest respect for, and learn from, the people I work with as they grapple with the profound challenges of getting unstuck in their lives and making hopeful changes, as I myself have.
